First steps with your SIM

Have you received your new AVATEL SIM? Great! Here is all the information you need. Welcome!

Activation

IMPORTANT: Do not dispose of or remove your present SIM when you receive the new AVATEL SIM. You must continue to use it until we tell you; if not, you will be left without the service.

1. The activation process of your SIM will be carried out within the next 48 working hours after the porting from your previous company is performed.
2. Within that term, you will receive an SMS to inform you of the date and time when you must change your old SIM to the new one from AVATEL.
3. On that date, you must perform the change (carefully press out the card shape you need and keep the outer part so you can change them whenever you want). To make sure you are not left without network connection when you need it most, the portability will be performed in the early morning and you can continue to use it until then.
4. When the process has been carried out, you will be notified and you can insert the new SIM. We recommend you perform the SIM change by switching off the mobile phone and turning it on again after inserting the AVATEL SIM.
5. You can make a call to check that your SIM is correctly activated.

1. Insert your SIM, both if it is new or a duplicate, into the phone and the activation process will take place automatically. (Carefully press out the card shape you need and keep the outer part so you can change them whenever you want).
2. You can make a call to check that your SIM is correctly activated.
3. There are rare occasions when the activation does not take place immediately. Visit your nearest shop if that happens, or call the toll-free number 1790.

To know which SIM card matches, you must know the ICCID or SIM identification code. You can find that 18–20-digit code on the reverse of your SIM card, as shown in the picture.
